Wall Autographs
With the ultimate aim of building a crowdsourcing culture within Boston University Questrom School of Business (formerly School of Management), Wall Autographs serves as an experiment to observe how students react to an open and spontaneous feedback system. It was held in conjunction with the Senior Sendoff event. Graduating seniors are encouraged to pen down their most unforgettable moment, give advice to their younger peers, and provide suggestions that would make the school even better.
Structure is important in establishing open communication
This experiment validated that students are indeed eager to share their thoughts and welcome the idea of an open feedback system such as this. However, many students' first reaction was "what do you want me to write?", suggesting that some form of structure is necessary to facilitate the conversation. Structure can come in the form of context. Because this experiment was held in conjunction with Senior Sendoff, students understood the mood of the project, and did not write anything offensive, which was one of the biggest worry management had. Hopefully the success of this experiment will lead to a more transparent and effective feedback system between students and the school.
